After our huge European road trip, it feels good to be back exploring UK vanlife — and the Gower Peninsula in South Wales might just be one of the most beautiful places we’ve visited in our campervan.
Our base for this Gower vanlife adventure is Nicholaston Farm, a campsite with incredible views, fantastic facilities and, best of all, direct walking access through the dunes to Tor Bay.

🏖️ EXPLORING TOR BAY
One of the biggest reasons we wanted to stay at Nicholaston Farm was its location. From our campervan pitch, we can walk directly from the campsite through the woodland and sand dunes to the beautiful Tor Bay.
Golden sand, dramatic Gower coastline and incredible coastal scenery — exactly what we came to Wales for!
🥾 RHOSSILI & WORM’S HEAD
No Gower Peninsula road trip would be complete without visiting Rhossili.
We find an amazing campervan park-up before heading out on foot to explore one of the Gower’s most famous locations, taking in the spectacular views across Rhossili Bay and walking towards the iconic Worm’s Head.
If you’re looking for some of the best walks, viewpoints and beaches in Wales, this part of the Gower is difficult to beat.
🏴☠️ PORT EYNON & CULVER HOLE
Next up, we travel to Port Eynon and set off on another Gower coastal walk in search of one of the strangest places we’ve ever found on our travels — Culver Hole.
Hidden within the cliffs near Port Eynon, this mysterious stone structure has been built directly into the entrance of a sea cave and has centuries of history and legends surrounding it, including tales of smugglers.
It’s an incredible hidden gem and easily one of the most unusual places we’ve visited in South Wales.
🌊 MUMBLES
To finish our Gower Peninsula road trip, we head to Mumbles for a seaside breakfast and a walk along the promenade — the perfect way to end another UK campervan adventure.
