Send this to someone who loves serious cocktails and serious food in the same place.
I finally spent a night at Clemente Bar, located directly above Eleven Madison Park in New York City.
Right next to the bar is Es Studio, an intimate eight seat omakase counter from Chef Ichimura.
The interesting part is that you can order select dishes from the Studio while sitting at Clemente, without booking the full omakase experience.
I tried the uni monaka and the toro and caviar hand roll alongside several cocktails, including Sakura Heights, the Negroni Colada, and Break Night.
And the drinks absolutely held their own next to the food.
Clemente is not the place I would recommend when you are trying to have a cheap night out.
But if you want to splurge on great cocktails with access to some seriously special food, this is exactly my kind of bar.
