The New York Times just released their Top 100 Restaurants list โ and as two Top Chef finalists, we couldn’t stay quiet.
We’ve competed on the biggest culinary stage in America. We’ve eaten at hundreds of restaurants across the country. And when we sat down to go through this list together? We had PROBLEMS.
In this episode of The Chef’s Cut, we’re breaking down the NYT’s biggest snubs, debating whether price point should even matter in a food review, and calling out the restaurants that deserve to be on this list โ and the ones that don’t.
Should a $400 tasting menu get priority over a $30 neighborhood spot that’s changing the way people eat? We don’t think so. And apparently, 13.5% of American households facing food insecurity don’t think so either.
This is the most honest conversation about the NYT Top 100 you’ll find anywhere.
