Cooktown also offers an incredible mix of history, Indigenous culture, tropical rainforest, beautiful beaches and access to Cape York, making it one of the most rewarding places to visit in Queensland.

Always check tide times before driving to the Coloured Sands.
A high-clearance 4WD is strongly recommended for this trip.
Never enter waterways where crocodiles may be present.
Carry recovery gear, fuel, drinking water and emergency supplies.
