Located on a busy road the pub has been operating since 1827, however prior to this it was used as a variety of shops and pays homage to that throughout.
Originally two buildings, with No. 10 Washington Street operated as a fishmonger, while No. 11 served as a pub.
Over the years, the premises underwent various transformations, including periods as a grocer, bootmaker, and even a flour and meal store.
Upstairs, ‘Grannie’s Room’ offers an intimate setting for private gatherings, while the heated beer garden provides a relaxed outdoor space.
