Have you ever wondered how the awards for the “best beers” are given out at the Tap NY Beer Festival??? Well this year, I was selected to be one of the guest judges that awarded the best beer in NY State…Basically a group of expert judges narrow down all the beers entered into the compatition to ten finalist. Then a panel of guest judges (such as myself) are selected to pick the best three among the 10 finalist. The rules are simple… the group of guest judges blindly test the ten finalist and must come to a unanimous decision to which are the three best. In this exclusive video you will get an inside look on how exactly the process works and how this years panel (which included myself) came up with the best beers for NY State in 2012.
