This Victorian pub was opened in 1823 and is often regarded as one of the most beautiful in Dublin.
At the edge of the popular Temple Bar, it is noted for its literary associations such as Patrick Kavanagh, Brendan Behan and Flann O’Brien.
The tiny snug at the end of the bar, which can hold around 5 people, is said to have been the location of Michael Collin’s meetings during the Irish War of Independence.
To the rear it features a picture of NYC’s famous McSorley’s Old Ale House and their iconic catchphrase – ‘Be good or be gone’.
