After a price war was stirred in the cola space and also soap and detergent space, yet another consumer space may witness a price war. Yes the pizza category space.. Papa Johns International, a US based company and one of the world’s largest pizza delivery company is eyeing a big presence in India as they announced they would be opening 650 restaurants in India in the next 10 years. First store expected to be opened in 2024 in Bangalore followed by openings across South India and then across the country.
Now this space is already crowded with both organized as well unorganized players. So this may result in further increase in competition. Companies may increase cost to attract consumer footfalls and also increase investments in store additions. And it may also lead to a price war between the players.
