This 4K walking tour of Otranto, Italy was filmed on Sunday, July 19th, 2026 starting at 12:34 PM at the Spiaggetta del Molo, the little beach at the foot of the town walls. It was a hot market Sunday — 31°C (88°F), with the monthly Otranto Antiqua antiques market running all day along the waterfront — so the whole town was either at the beach or in the water. The 5 km (3 mile) route circles the beaches, the walled old town, the Cathedral with its famous 12th-century Tree of Life floor mosaic and the Chapel of the 800 Martyrs, the Aragonese Castle, the Byzantine church of San Pietro, and ends on the long sandy beaches across the bay.
Otranto is the easternmost town in Italy — on a clear day you can see Albania across the strait. I first filmed Otranto back in 2021, and this summer I finally brought my family here to swim. You will see them a few times during the walk. 🙂
