Sip & Guzzle in New York is number 39 on The World’s 50 Best Bars list, but one of the coolest things about it is that you’re basically getting two completely different bars behind the same front door.
Upstairs is Guzzle, led by Steve Schneider. It’s loud, energetic, fun, and feels unmistakably New York.
Head downstairs to Sip and the entire experience changes. Shingo Gokan leads a quieter Japanese inspired cocktail experience where the drinks can get seriously creative.
And the experience behind this team matters. Steve spent years at Employees Only, while Shingo built his reputation at Angel’s Share before creating some of the most respected bars around the world.
Sip & Guzzle went from a new opening to the top of North America’s bar scene remarkably quickly.
And yes, you should probably order the Wagyu burger too.
