Nishaan has been on my list for a while, and after finally getting invited in, I completely understand the buzz. 🔥
📍 Nishaan — 1st Ave, New York City
What started as a pop-up went on to win Season 18 of The Great Food Truck Race, and they’re taking familiar NYC street food and putting their own Pakistani-American spin on it.
We started with their Pakistani Achari Cheesesteak — halal shaved steak, Achari mayo, hot cherry peppers, tamarind chutney, caramelized onions and Cooper Sharp. Tons of flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy.
Then came the Elotes Chaat Loaded Fries with Bihari Barbacoa, loaded with masala fries, elotes chaat, lime cilantro sauce, tamarind chutney, crunchy bhel, cotija, onions and chaat masala.
But the MAIN EVENT for me was the Pakistani Chopped Cheese. Spiced patties, peppers, onions, pepper jack, American cheese, lime cilantro sauce and tamarind chutney on a toasted hero. Taking one of the most classic New York City sandwiches and giving it a Pakistani twist was absolutely awesome.
We also tried the Mango Achar Wings, plus their cardamom Gulab Jamun Cold Foam Cold Brew.
And dessert? The Dubai Chocolate Paratha Funnel Cake might honestly be one of the BEST desserts I’ve had all year — crispy paratha topped with pistachio, crunchy kataifi and chocolate hazelnut.
If I could only order TWO things here:

This was my first visit to Nishaan, and it definitely won’t be my last.
Would you try the Pakistani Chopped Cheese?
