This quirky pub opened in the late 1990’s and is famous for a ‘cinema room’ to the rear, filled with cushions and mattresses making it one of the most unusual places to stop for a beer.
Although I did not have time for a screening, I did meet Michael, who is better known online as ‘Edinburgh & Beyond,’ and we sat to live stream an interview on our channel.
Its name probably comes from the old British naval saying ‘cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey’ which refers to extremely cold weather and possibly originates from the nickname of the
