The chilli chicken sandwich at Pecking House in Chinatown is $16, and it turns up on two slices of plain white bread, cut into a triangle like a school lunch.
Under that bread is a massive fried chicken thigh drenched in Sichuan chilli oil, with sweet pickles and mayo. It stains your hands red.
Spicy, crunchy, ridiculously juicy. Easy 10 out of 10… one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had in New York City.
Pecking House is chef Eric Huang’s Sichuan fried chicken spot, best known for its chilli fried chicken.
