Enjoy the journey — it’s the sign you might need today if you’ve been white-knuckling your way toward some destination instead of living your actual life.
I thought I’d signed up for an easy five-hour hike. What I got was a lesson I’m still living by.

The Setup
I expected an easy out-and-back. What I got was unclear trails, river crossings, no cell service, and a body that was already tired before the real climb started.
When Fear Took Over
Somewhere in the chaos, I almost turned back. This is what fear actually sounds like when it’s steering.
The Waterfall — And Everything After
Reaching it wasn’t the shift. The hike back was. Same trail, same body, completely different experience — because I was.
Meeting Tu
A man living in the forest met me at the end of the trail and said, almost word for word, everything I’d just learned: live from the heart, slow down, let yourself be lost before you’re found.
Doing It Again — On Purpose
I hiked it a second time with zero pressure to reach the waterfall. What changed says everything about how expectations shape our experience of, well, anything.
So — where in your life are you white-knuckling the destination instead of trusting the path?
