when i first moved to this city 8 years ago, i knew almost instantly that i wanted to live here because it made me feel so inspired, and gave me the confidence to think i could accomplish things i doubted i was capable of. this is the new york city i want to show, the side of it that makes you want to create, makes you want to connect with other people, expand your horizons, learn to be more tolerant and empathetic.
i don’t treat my life in new york city like it’s a permanent vacation -constantly trying out the latest trendy food (no it’s never “worth the hype”), going out to drinks, clubs, ordering take out, go back to work on monday, rince & repeat. not only can regular people not afford that, but even if i could, this is not a lifestyle that’s ever made me feel fulfilled.
