Beacon, New York might be the hippest city in New York state. Its just a short 1.5 hour train ride north of Manhattan in the Hudson River Valley, and so it’s a great weekend destination for people from NYC. Beacon has great restaurants, live music, two breweries, and a local distillery half way between them. Its also the home to the museum Dia Beacon.
