Carnegie Deli is nothing short of one of the most iconic delis in NYC, if not one of the most iconic restaurants in NYC! When it comes to the best Jewish Deli in New York City, it’s always a battle of Katz’s Deli vs Carnegie Deli for who is king of New York for pastrami. I thought Carnegie Deli closed for good and wouldn’t reopen for a long time, if ever. However, to all of our surprise, it was announced Carnegie Deli would be returning and it reopened just a month after this announcement!

On opening day, I had to drop everything and review this place. I needed to see if out of all the great pastrami spots I’ve eaten at, like 2nd Ave Deli, Pastrami Queen, Sarge’s Deli, Harold’s Deli, and Pastrami Grill Bistro, if Carnegie Deli is indeed superior to all of them. Its reputation precedes it. Is that fair? Let’s find out!
