The 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services, guided by the theme “Global Services, Shared Benefits,” has placed business expansion into overseas markets among its key priorities. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into cross-border trade, how will it reshape the way companies expand internationally?
This question was explored in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the 2026 Land-Sea Economic Forum. Under the theme “Expanding the Silk Road Together: A New AI+ International Cooperation Paradigm,” the forum brought together the Honorable Senator Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Mohamed, Deputy President of Senate in the Parliament of Malaysia; Dato’ Andrew Goh Boon Kim, Deputy President of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing; and Encik Ir. Wan Murdani Wan Mohamad, Vice President of the Digital Adoption Division at the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, among other guests.
The participants discussed the application of AI in supply chain management, cross-border customs clearance, digital payments and smart manufacturing, and explored new opportunities for companies expanding overseas and for China-ASEAN industrial cooperation.
