Chirala Beach, located in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, is a serene and scenic coastal destination along the Bay of Bengal. Often referred to as “Ksheerapuri” (meaning “sea of milk”) due to its smooth, white-to-golden sands, the beach offers a tranquil escape from urban life. Its relatively untouched shoreline, calm waters, and gentle waves make it ideal for families, nature lovers, and anyone seeking peace by the sea.
The area around Chirala Beach blends natural beauty with cultural charm. Traditional fishing villages, lush greenery, and a friendly local vibe create a picturesque setting, while spectacular sunrises and sunsets attract photographers and evening strollers. Unlike more commercialized Indian beaches, Chirala remains less crowded and unspoiled, preserving a quiet atmosphere where visitors can enjoy long walks, swimming in shallow waters, sunbathing, and simple beachside relaxation.
Historically, Chirala has been significant since the 17th century as a trade and commerce hub under various rulers, including the Qutb Shahis, Mughals, French, and British, and it played a role in India’s freedom struggle. Today, the town is also known for its handloom textile industry, earning nicknames like “Mini Bombay.” The best time to visit is between October and March, when the weather is cool and comfortable, enhancing the experience of this clean, accessible, and family-friendly beach.

చీరాల బీచ్ ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లోని ప్రకాశం జిల్లాలో, బంగాళాఖాతం తీరంలో ఉన్న ఒక అందమైన మరియు శాంతమైన సముద్ర తీరం. ఇది విజయవాడ నుండి సుమారు 100–120 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో, హైదరాబాద్ నుండి 320 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో ఉండటం వల్ల వారాంతపు ప్రయాణాలకు చాలా అనుకూలంగా ఉంటుంది. తెల్లని, మృదువైన ఇసుక కారణంగా దీనిని ‘క్షీరపురి’ (పాల సముద్రం) అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు.
ఈ బీచ్ చుట్టూ చేపల వేట గ్రామాలు, పచ్చని ప్రకృతి, స్థానిక చేనేత పరిశ్రమ ఉండటం వల్ల ఇక్కడ ఒక ప్రత్యేకమైన గ్రామీణ-సముద్ర వాతావరణం కనిపిస్తుంది. చీరాల పట్టణం చేనేతకు ప్రసిద్ధి; ‘చీరాల’ అంటే తెలుగులో చీర అని కూడా అర్థం ఉంది. బీచ్లో సూర్యోదయం, సూర్యాస్తమయం చాలా అద్భుతంగా ఉంటాయి, ఫోటోగ్రఫీకి, నిశ్చలంగా కూర్చుని సముద్రం చూడటానికి ఇది చాలా బాగుంటుంది. అక్టోబర్ నుండి మార్చి వరకు ఇక్కడ వాతావరణం చల్లగా, సుఖప్రదంగా ఉంటుంది కాబట్టి ఆ సమయంలో వెళ్లడం ఉత్తమం.
ప్రస్తుతం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం చీరాల బీచ్ను గోవా మాదిరి పర్యాటక కేంద్రంగా అభివృద్ధి చేయడానికి ప్రణాళికలు సిద్ధం చేస్తోంది; రోడ్లు, శానిటేషన్, హోటళ్లు, హోమ్స్టేలు వంటి సౌకర్యాలు మెరుగుపడుతున్నాయి. బీచ్లో స్విమ్మింగ్, సన్బాతింగ్, బోటింగ్, సర్ఫింగ్, ఫిషింగ్ వంటి కార్యకలాపాలు చేయవచ్చు. దగ్గర్లో సూర్యలంక బీచ్ కూడా ఉండటం వల్ల ఈ తీర ప్రాంతం మొత్తం పర్యాటకంగా మరింత ఆకర్షణీయంగా మారుతోంది.
