What does breakfast really look like in an ordinary home in Japan? 🇯🇵
In this video, I’ve gathered 17 breakfasts from my everyday life in Japan into one long, quiet morning — from rice and miso soup to onigiri, tofu pancakes, egg sandwiches, ochazuke, and other simple Japanese home-cooked meals. 🌿
Some mornings are traditionally Japanese, while others are toast, pancakes, or simply whatever I feel like eating that day. ☺️
Looking back through these breakfasts, I realized how much our ordinary mornings can quietly change from day to day. There were rainy mornings, sleepy mornings, rushed mornings, and mornings that brought back old memories.
And apparently… I eat even more tofu than I thought. 😂
If you’re curious about everyday life in Japan, Japanese breakfast, home cooking, and the small food habits that are part of daily life here, I hope you’ll enjoy spending this slow morning with me.
You can watch it while having breakfast, cooking, working, studying, or simply relaxing at home. ☕️
If you’ve been watching my channel for a while, you may recognize a few of these mornings. And if you’ve only just found me, welcome to this little piece of my everyday life in Japan. 🌿
I wonder which of these 17 breakfasts you would most like to try. ☺️

🥞 DAY 10 & DAY 13 — Tofu Pancakes
Please adjust the amount of liquid depending on the type of rice flour you use. The batter should have a consistency similar to pancake batter.
DAY 10 — Light Tofu Version
150 g silken tofu
1 egg
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp rice flour
This version uses plenty of tofu, so you can still taste it quite clearly. ☺️
DAY 13 — Balanced Version
90 g silken tofu
1 egg
70 g rice flour
45 g water
4 g baking powder
This version has a milder tofu flavor and feels much closer to a regular pancake. 🥞
If you have milk, I recommend this version ☺️
90 g silken tofu
1 egg
70 g rice flour
15 g sugar
1 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
10–30 ml milk
Add the milk little by little until the batter reaches the consistency you like.
Thank you for spending this long morning with me. 🌿
