Wah Fung Fast Food, also officially called Wah Fung No. 1 Fast Food, is not only one of the most hyped Chinese restaurants in NYC, it is also hands down one of the most hyped restaurants in NYC period! Located inside NYC Chinatown, people may differ as to whether they think it’s NYC Chinatown’s best restaurant, but it is hands down one of NYC Chinatown’s cheapest restaurants! You can get a rice bowl here for just $6. That is cheaper than most street carts and definitely cheaper than Halal Carts these days!
But Wah Fung Fast Food is cheap, but is actually good? Maybe the long lines are more so because of its price rather than its objective quality? I went to Manhattan Chinatown’s iconic restaurant to find out. Let’s see if this Chinese hole in the wall is actually great, or if it’s just hyped up now and past its heyday in terms of quality. Maybe Wah Fung Fast Food is a tourist trap now and no longer among the best Chinese Restaurants in NYC.
