The actor had thousands of bees covering his arm for a sequence filmed during a short window of sunset light. The shot reportedly took around 40 minutes to capture—but there was an even bigger risk.
McConaughey had discovered just a week earlier that he was severely allergic to bee stings, and he had already experienced significant swelling from a sting. 😨
The filmmakers saved the bee scene for his final day of shooting, making sure all his other scenes were completed first.
