Empire Diner is probably the most famous diner in NYC. It’s most well-known for appearing in many movies, such as a brief cameo in Home Alone 2 and also an appearance in Men in Black. However, it appeared in these movies because it’s iconic, it isn’t iconic because it appeared in those movies, if that makes sense. So I decided to try NYC’s most hyped diner to see if it’s NYC’s best diner.
I hit up this famous spot to see if it’s indeed great, or if it’s a tourist trap. We tried many items from the Empire Diner menu, such as the iconic Empire Diner pastrami sandwich, along with other items they have like fish and chips and fried chicken and waffles.
This place gets pretty crowded, but luckily for me I was able to waltz in pretty easily. We’ll see if Empire Diner lives up to the hype or if Empire Diner is a tourist trap!
