In the middle of the Utah desert, Capitol Reef National Park is hiding something unexpected — a green fruit orchard. Mormon settlers planted it in the 1880s, and in season you can pick your own apples, peaches and cherries, paying on an honesty system. It’s the quietest of Utah’s five national parks, with a short, stunning scenic drive and a fraction of the crowds of Zion or Bryce.
