Often hailed as the city’s oldest pub, with the cellars tracing back to 1516, although the main structure dates from around the 1740s.
Poet Robert Burns was rumoured to have stayed here on his final visit to Edinburgh in 1791 and William Wordsworth is believed to have stayed here.
It is another pub on the stretch that is said to be haunted, not that we saw any ghostly goings on, and it was the perfect place to finish the crawl.
