We left Zanzibar… and everything went wrong. In this Tanzania travel vlog, we fly from Zanzibar to Arusha, deal with a cancelled flight, explore Arusha, hike to Napuru Waterfall, and face chaos before our Serengeti safari.
Leaving Zanzibar should have been simple… but almost nothing went according to plan. Our flight to Arusha was cancelled, forcing us onto a different airline. After finally arriving in Arusha, Tanzania, we explored the city, visited the Clock Tower and Arusha Central Market, and discovered why Arusha is known as the safari capital of Tanzania.
The next morning, we woke up at 5:30 a.m. and hiked through the Arusha Valley to Napuru Waterfall. Along the way, we crossed rivers, explored the forest, learned about Maasai culture, saw local plantations and communities, and discovered traditional uses for local plants.
After hours of hiking, we still had to find bus tickets to Mwanza before the bus office closed. With almost no Tanzanian shillings, no way to pay by card, and barely any time left, everything became chaotic.
This was supposed to be a relaxing day before our Serengeti safari… instead, it became one of the most chaotic travel days of our Tanzania trip.
