The original bar opened in 1907 making it one of the city’s oldest, with it continuing as a speakeasy for local sailors and travellers throughout prohibition.

After closing in mid-2021 due to an ownership change and the struggles during the pandemic, it was revived with a new name of Teddy’s on the Hill.
