KOH TAO WAS WILD: We Saved a Dog & Swam With Sharks
We expected beautiful beaches and baby sharks on Koh Tao. We definitely did not expect to find an older dog struggling in the hot, shallow water at Sairee Beach.
In this Koh Tao travel vlog, we explore some of the best beaches on the island, including Sairee Beach, Aow Leuk Beach and Freedom Beach. What started as a relaxed beach day quickly became much more serious when we found a dog who appeared extremely weak and barely responsive.
At first, I genuinely thought he might be dying. We carried him out of the hot water and direct sunlight, placed him in the shade and slowly gave him some water. Thankfully, he gradually became more alert. A woman then took him to a local veterinarian, and although I never received an update, I am really hoping that we managed to save his life.
Later in the episode, we visit Aow Leuk Beach, where tiny blacktip reef sharks were swimming through the shallow water just metres away from us. After seeing sharks during our Koh Tao boat tour the previous day, finding them directly beside the beach was a completely different experience.
We also hike to John-Suwan Viewpoint, one of the best viewpoints on Koh Tao, before finishing the day at peaceful Freedom Beach for sunset.
