In this video, we take a look back at the bicentennial craze that took over America 50 years ago, with widespread patriotism and festivities across the nation.
Many iconic elements were introduced during this time, including the popular Schoolhouse Rock series and the CBS Bicentennial Minute, which aimed to educate the public about American history. It was the first of many Boston Pops performances that became a 4th of July tradition.
The 1976 celebration was truly one for the books.
