In one of the biggest gold seizures in Assam, Guwahati City Police recovered 37 kilograms of suspected smuggled gold bars worth over ₹55 crore during an operation in Guwahati.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shambhavi Mishra said the case appears to be linked to an international gold smuggling network. One accused, Akshay Bansode, has been arrested, and the investigation is continuing.
