We traveled deep into the Woodlawn area of the Bronx, famously known as Little Ireland or the Emerald Mile, to play a legendary game of Restaurant Roulette. Instead of searching the internet, we stopped locals on the street and let them decide exactly where and what we should eat for an entire day. From a traditional morning plate to a wild, mind-blowing fusion dish, this neighborhood is packed with incredible culinary surprises.
Our local food tour features some unforgettable stops:
A massive full Irish breakfast at Eileen’s Country Kitchen, complete with black pudding, white pudding, crispy potatoes, and our very first taste of classic brown sauce.
Insanely crispy, beer-battered fish and chips at The Rambling House, completely doused in malt vinegar just the way the locals love it.
A legendary Irish spice bag packed with succulent fried chicken and intense peppers that completely reset our baseline for comfort food.
An unbelievable three-culture fusion bowl featuring ramen noodles, Irish bacon, cabbage, and Korean-style cheese.
To cap off the entire day, we took on a massive pepper challenge from an Asian market that went off the rails fast. It easily turned into the absolute hottest thing we have ever eaten in New York City.
